Why is the festival for women only and why does it only feature films directed by women?
See Formative texts
How do you prepare for the festival?
In January we have an open meeting at which we present the annual report to the festival goers and where we form the new team. All members of the team are volunteers, and each of us chooses to work in one or several commissions.
What is Cineffable's position on transsexuality?
At Cineffable, since the very beginning, we have systematically included films which concern or touch upon transsexuality, male to female and female to male. We have also always supported the screenings with debates to which we have invited transsexuals, individuals at various stages of the process, who consider themselves to be women (remember, our festival is women only!). The way we see it, reduced to its most simple formulation, and not unlike the sex of angels, gender is a declaration. All those who want to come to the festival and who consider themselves to be women are welcome.
What debates have there been during previous festivals?
See Debates in the menu Archives.
