Réalisatrice militante, Alejandra Novoa est à la tête de Telemanita, un collectif féministe dont le but est de promouvoir l'utilisation de la vidéo comme outil d'éducation, d'organisation et d'expression auprès des femmes mexicaines et latino-américaines. Au sein de Telemanita, elle organise des ateliers vidéo et réalise également des documentaires sur le féminisme et le lesbianisme au Mexique.

Filmmaker activist Alejandra Novoa is the director of Telemanita, a feminist collective whose aim is to promote the use of video as a tool for education, organization and expression for the Mexican and Latin American women. With Telemanita, she organizes video workshops and directs documentaries.

Filmmaker Teresa MacInnes tackles the debate: Are there no great women artists? The statistics are revealing. At Washington's National Gallery only 1 in every 30 paintings is by a woman. Née et élevée à Vancouver, Colombie-Britannique, Teresa MacInnes est venue à l'industrie du film et de la télévision après une expérience en travail social et en psychologie. Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Teresa came to the film and television industry from a background in social work and psychology. While completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at Simon Fraser University in 1988, she became involved in filmmaking. Working as an independent producer and director Teresa has gone on to direct many documentaries for television: "Under Wraps" (1996); "A Rough Crossing" (1995); "Teen Rebel/Teen Mom" (1994); "Child Sexual Abuse: Both Sides of the Coin" (1991); and "Breaking the Chains: A Story of Recovery" (1989).

Pratibha Parmar was born in Nairobi, Kenya. She is an Indo-British director. Before she began to make films, she was a youth and community worker working in the Asian community with young women. Pratibha Parmar has directed and produced music videos, fiction films and a quite a number of documentaries concentrated on issues related to race, sexuality and gender.

Ivan Coyote was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. An award-winning author of eight collections of short stories, one novel, three CD's, four short films and a renowned performer, Ivan's first love is live storytelling, and over the last nineteen years they have become an audience favourite at music, poetry, spoken word and writer's festivals from Anchorage to Amsterdam. Ivan began performing in 1992, and in 1996 co-founded Taste This, a four person performance troupe that combined live music, storytelling and performance poetry to create a text-driven genre-busting collaborative exchange.

"Treyf" –"unkosher" in Yiddish– is an unorthodox documentary by and about two Jewish lesbians who met and fell in love at a Passover "seder". "Treyf" is iconoclastic and intelligent, humorous and poignant, a personal journey from kibbutz summers to coming out, from keeping kosher to "Bat Mitzvahs." A reflection on culture, community, and individual desire, this witty film follows the filmmakers as they discover what they thought was most profoundly "treyf" about their worldviews still has roots in Jewish history.

Cynthia Madansky (co-producer, director, writer) is a filmmaker, visual artist, and graphic designer. She recently completed a conceptual art installation entitled "On the Jewish Question." In 1995, she also made two short films: "Internal Combustion," (distributed by Video Data Bank) in collaboration with Alisa Lebow, and "We At Her," shown at the Jerusalem Cinematheque and screened at the prestigious Feminale in Cologne, 1996.

Alisa Lebow is an independent filmmaker and writer. She graduated at Vassar College, Anthropology, B.A. (1985) and NYU, Cinema Studies, M.A. (1998).

Elle a participé à des dizaines de productions cinématographiques, exerçant divers postes allant de monteuse image à assistante caméraman. Lisa travaille actuellement dans une coopérative de cinéma indépendant à Toronto.

Lisa Hayes is an active member of the Toronto Independent film community. To date, she has completed six short films, all of which were inspired by actual people and events in her life. Her award-winning films have been shown at over 100 film festivals around the world, and have been broadcast in France, Spain, Canada, USA and Australia. Hayes has worked on dozens of film productions, filling a variety of positions from Picture Editor to Camera Assistant.

"And the March Continues!" combines documentary and narrative forms to present a history of the lesbian movement in Mexico from its origins to the present. Testimonies from Mexican lesbians and movement leaders give impressions of daily life in their country. A dramatized encounter between Frida Kahlo, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz (acclaimed 17th Century Mexican poet) and modern day Mexican revolutionary, Adelita, is a humorous but poignant acknowledgement of the historical and cultural impact made by these and other Mexican lesbians.
