Elle enseigne l'étude des médias tout en poursuivant sa carrière de réalisatrice. Lea Morement vit à Londres (Royaume-Uni) et travaille en freelance depuis 15 ans comme scénariste, réalisatrice et assistante monteuse. Based in London (UK), Samantha Bakhurst is an award-winning filmmaker and producer. She writes for radio, TV and film. She teaches media studies as well as working as a director. Lea Morement lives in London (UK) and works for 15 years as freelance writer, director and assistant editor.

		Samuael Topiary a étudié l'art dramatique à l'Université de New York. Auteure de trois pièces, actrice, elle se consacre ensuite à la danse et à des spectacles multidisciplinaires alliant vidéo, diapositives, textes et danses improvisées. Atalanta est son premier film. Samuael Topiary is an interdisciplinary media artist, performer, filmmaker and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. Obsessed with metaphor and cultural context, Topiary's work crosses genres, integrating documentary and essay with dance and performance, to create poetic meditations on the ways that myth, archetype and allegory inform contemporary experience. Topiary's videos, performances, collaborations and installations have been presented in film festivals, theaters, galleries and museums in venues through the US and internationally. Topiary received an MFA in Film/Video from Bard College and currently teaches film at the School for Visual Arts in New York City and at CUNY's College of Staten Island.

		Dominique Cardona & Laurie Colbert
		Basée à Toronto, Laurie Colbert écrit, réalise et produit des films indépendants depuis de nombreuses années. Née en Algérie, Dominique vient en France à l'age de 7 ans. Elle fait ses études de droit à l'Université de Montpellier et s'installe à Toronto en 1990. Ensemble, elles réalisent plusieurs films, tous passés à Cineffable, dont les documentaires : Thank God I'm a Lesbian (1992) et My Feminism (1997). Toronto filmmaker Laurie Colbert has been writing, directing, and producing independent films for many years. Dominique Cardona was born in Algeria and came to France at the age of 7. She studied law at the University of Montpellier and moved to Toronto in 1990. Together, they have made 3 films, all of which have screened at Cineffable, including the documentaries: "Thank God I'm a Lesbian" (1992) and "My Feminism" (1997).

		Mathilde Géromin aka Lamathilde est une artiste de vidéo-performance-son, franco-canadienne qui vit et travaille à Montréal. Après des études de cinéma, une maîtrise en linguistique, Lamathilde retourne à ses premières amours l'image et le son. Son travail porte sur l'identité à travers le genre et la sexualité. Documentariste, monteuse et linguiste spécialisée dans la langue des signes, elle a déjà réalisé divers clips expérimentaux, parmi lesquels Bildo, Rouge et SDB présentés cette année par Cineffable. Mathilde Geromin aka Lamathilde is a video-sound-performance artist. Her work investigates identity through sexuality and gender using low-grade video, super 8, manipulated film footage and stop-motion animation. Sound is at the core of her practice. Her work has been shown in many galleries and international festivals.

Megan a tout pour plaire. Et en plus, elle est 'pompom girl'. Mais un jour ses amis et sa famille l'obligent à admettre son attirance pour les filles. Pour corriger ce fâcheux penchant, elle devra intégrer la maison 'Le droit chemin', un camp de redressement pour homosexuel(le)s.
Tout en couleurs acidulées, ce film résolument 'camp' révèle derrière son humour loufoque l'existence de camps de redressement pour homosexuel(le)s comme il en existe bel et bien aux Etats-Unis.

Megan Bloomfield, is an apparently happy heterosexual high school cheerleader. However, her friends and family are convinced that she is a homosexual and arrange an intervention, sending her to a residential inpatient reparative therapy camp to cure her lesbianism. There Megan soon realizes that she is indeed a lesbian and, despite the therapy, gradually comes to embrace her sexual orientation.
The film was inspired by an article about conversion therapy and filmmaker's childhood familiarity with rehabilitation programs. Jamie Babbit used the story of a young woman finding her sexual identity to explore the social construction of gender roles and heteronormativity. The costume and set design of the film highlighted these themes using artificial textures in intense blues and pinks.

Elle a d'abord été scripte sur plusieurs longs métrages, puis a réalisé Frog Crossing, et Sleeping Beauties sélectionné au festival en 1998. But I'm a Cheerleader est son premier long métrage. Jamie Babbit (born November 16, 1970) is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. She has directed the short films "Frog Crossing" and "Sleeping Beauties." She is involved with film production company POWER UP. Babbit graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in 1993.
