Synopsis

The video Corps de parole presents three political participations by Michèle Causse, nomadic writer, in Montreal. For this screening, only 20 minutes will be broadcast.
L'interloquée, conference on the theme of power at the 3rd International Feminist Book Fair in Montreal, 1988. Reading-conference at the Galerie Powerthouse: From Djuna Barnes to Natalie Barney: 40 years of unpublished correspondence. Series of meetings where Michèle Causse tells us about her background, her vision of a radical lesbian and her books including L'encontre and ( ).

Diane HEFFERNAN & Suzanne VERTUE

Thanks to the international feminism movement of the 1970s, the artist and videomaker Diane Heffernan founded in 1972 with her friend Suzanne Vertue the Vidé-Elle Network, a collective of women aiming to produce, direct and broadcast videos on political experience, social and cultural of women. Since then, Network videomakers have videotaped the history of women and lesbians from here and elsewhere. Thus, at present, a good part of the social and cultural events of the feminist and lesbian movements in Quebec are forever immortalized on videotapes, making us all and all the privileged witnesses of these past events. Such visual and audio documents - a wealth - contribute to the memory of lesbians belonging to the rising generations.
As a community activist, Diane Heffernan coordinates and animates the Quebec Lesbian Network (QLN), a flagship organization that works to defend the rights of Quebec lesbians. The QLN was created in 1996 at a founding convention by lesbians who wished to have an independent voice in the public arena and who also wanted to revive the opportunities for exchange between them.
