Beth NELSEN

Beth Nelsen is an independent documentary filmmaker who has worked in production since 1995. She left the US in 2004 to travel Thailand, India, and eventually landed in Australia, where she earned her Master of Arts in Film & Television from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) at the University of Melbourne. Upon graduation in 2007, Beth earned Most Promising Director for her thesis project, Love Refugees, a documentary on same-sex bi-national couples. After 6 years of living and working in documentary film, she returned to the US to work on local projects and has this year made two films for the Native American community. Her most recent film, Pippa, played in New York and Los Angeles as part of the Reel Recovery Film Festival.
