Campbell X

Campbell X is an award-winning filmmaker/curator. She started out making films for UK television and titles include Ragga Gyal D'Bout!, BD Women about Black lesbian stories, and Legacy about the psychological effect of Transatlantic slavery on family relationships. She was the festival director for The Fire This Time! – Queering Black History Month 2006 which focused on the work of queer artists of colour for Black History Month (an annual observance for remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora). She has written articles on film, sexuality and gender for many magazines including Diva Magazine and Feminist Review. Finally, she also collaborates with other filmmakers like Cheryl Dunye, Jules Nurrish, Lisa Gornick or Paloma Etienne.
